WLA Network Partner Conference in Barcelona

Our members at the event – from all seven continents !

Its hard to believe it was one year ago that our MD and Stuart Green attended the annual network meeting of the WLA (World Logistic Alliance) in Shanghai. This year certainly has flown by!

wlalogoThe annual meeting of our partners from across the globe was this year held a little closer to home, in the beautiful Catalan city of Barcelona, where our MD Ross Negus and our Export Manager (Sea and Road) Angus McInnes attended.

These events are a lot of fun, with a serious undertone of business. Building personal relationships with the owners and higher management of our partners is vital to the success of our company, as these partners represent our interests globally.

The WLA organise a team building afternoon at each conference, from white river rafting in Bali and treasure hunting at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, to building a rollacoaster in Shanghai! The relationships forged at these events really are a key driver to our joint successes as freight forwarding companies. As we have mentioned previously, our unique advantage over the large, multinational freight forwarding companies, is our flexibility to work with different partners, sometimes in the same city.

Our diversity as a forwarding company is a great strength, with our air, ocean, road departments complimented by specialist activity in the cruise & marine sectors, dangerous goods, standard warehousing, bonded warehousing, air and ocean bond enabling us to effect customs clearance in our own facility, project work, vehicle exports/imports and personal effects to name just a few. Many freight forwarding companies choose to specialise more individually and therefore, in some areas of the world, we work with three or four agents who may each specialise in air, ocean, dangerous goods, marine activity etc. This strength in depth provides our clients with the peace of mind that our service is not only global, but specific to their individual needs, and tailored on a regular basis to ensure we are constantly adapting to the ever changing markets.
