The Freight Club Annual Conference 2017 in Rome

At SFS we are a fairly modest bunch. We do not tend to enter ourselves into competitions or put ourselves up for awards. We’re quite happy to just get on with the job and (hopefully) make our clients happy, plus have a little fun along the way.

However, we are members of an international freight forwarders network, who conduct their own internal vote for the ‘Best Agent’, voted by all the members, each year at the annual conference. As it is voted by the other members, its the footballing equivalent of the ‘players player award’, so for us its a very proud moment to be voted as best agent by our fellow forwarding companies, from all across the globe.

Now forgive us a small boast here, but in fact the award has only been made a handful of times, as opposed to each year, and we are absolutely thrilled to have been named as Best Agent no less than four times since the first award in 2009! Indeed, we won in 2009, 2010, 2015 and again in 2017!

At the annual conference, this year held in Rome, Italy, our customer services manager, Belinda Leadley, and our MD Ross Negus were present at the Gala dinner to hear the vote and receive the award. Needless to say they were delighted to accept, on behalf of the SFS family back in Southampton, who all work so hard to provide a high level of service to the members of this international network.

We’ve mentioned many times previously that one of the key strengths of our company is our access to a multitude of specialist international partners.

Our diversity as a forwarding company is a great strength, with our air, ocean, road departments complimented by specialist activity in the cruise & marine sectors, dangerous goods, standard warehousing, bonded warehousing, air and ocean bond enabling us to effect customs clearance in our own facility, project work, vehicle exports/imports and personal effects to name just a few. Many freight forwarding companies choose to specialise more individually and therefore, in some areas of the world, we work with three or four agents who may each specialise in air, ocean, dangerous goods, marine activity etc. This strength in depth provides our clients with the peace of mind that our service is not only global, but specific to their individual needs, and tailored on a regular basis to ensure we are constantly adapting to the ever changing markets.

If you would like any information regarding our agency networks and global coverage, please don’t hesitate to contact our team under the group email sales@sotonfreight.co.uk

We thank our partners for once again voting SFS as the best agent, and we’ll continue to work harder than ever to service our clients and partners in the UK and across the world.
